Scope of works:

Bid writing services, project planning services and graphic design services,

BWL was approached in November 2018 by a prime contractor with a requirement for professional bid support. The organisation had a high-value contract that it wished to secure and required BWL to support an appointed bid manager to write and develop each response.

BWL provided three experienced bid writers, a graphic designer and a planner for a period of 3 months.

The bid followed best practice APMP bid process and as such, BWL staff were required to submit all responses for colour reviews.

During the process, our staff worked both on and off-site to ensure close collaboration between the writers and technical leads.

In addition to producing responses, BWL created 190 infographics to support the bid and illustrate operational and system processes, delivery team structures, and describe how information is processed during the contract.

Each response required a high degree of knowledge surrounding both rail and surface transport environments, a good understanding of networking and CCTV, and a solid understanding of project management.

Added value:

During the completion of the proposal, the bid was extended by 30 days. The client wanted to make the best use of this time and required the full-time ongoing support of three writers and a graphic designer.

Due to the adherence of strict timescales, writers often found themselves working out of hours to ensure all deadlines were met.
