BWL Consulting was originally approached due to a client requiring bespoke bid writing training. Having previously used another bid consultancy for generic bid writing training, they were keen to explore bespoke training.
Following an assessment of the onsite bid resource, it was established that the bid writer placed a lot of focus on answering questions opposed to transferring the key requirements of the specification documents. In addition, weightings and scoring criteria were often neglected.
BWL created a training programme which allowed the bid resources to understand the key requirements of each specification, the obligations from the terms and conditions, the marking/scoring criteria and how to structure responses accordingly.
Following the success of the training, BWL was invited to support the client with a major bid providing bid writing and review services.
The final part of the procurement process included an operational presentation. The client had concerns that new departments required support following a first draft.
BWL produced a presentation including; design and layout, restructuring slides, adding new content, removing old content, creating transitional slides and appropriate animation and notes to support each slide. Its consultants further supported the client by talking through each slide and the importance of rehearsal.
